With a history of unexplained agonizing pain, she came to our clinic. This young lady was diagnosed in her thirties with Adenomyosis “a condition in which the inner lining of the womb, breaks through its muscular wall”, along with Endometriosis “which refers to the presence of the womb’s lining outside in the pelvis or abdomen
She did everything and spared no effort in the search of a cure. She sought therapy at the best centers she could find
Her first surgery was a laparotomy; a surgical incision and opening of the abdominal wall . And from there, everything got so complicated. This surgery caused lots of adhesion and fibrosis, between the colon and the pelvic organs. And it wasn’t even successful in removing her adenomyosis, which was the real cause of her pain
Her attempts continued. Another surgeon suggested a laparoscopic intervention, to try to break the adhesion . Unfortunately, this couldn’t be done. And she was told that she has extensive adhesion in the pelvis, and there is nothing we can do
Her pain kept going, and the added symptoms of colon involvement made her life even more difficult. Oral medications and injections couldn’t help anymore
Another surgeon, another laparoscopy, same result. “There is nothing we can do”She was told.“The adhesion are extensive, and the colon involvement makes it so difficult to remove
She didn’t give up. She kept looking for an answer. And after a while, she came to our clinic
In her early visits, she had lost all hope. But with God’s help, and after more than 6 hours in the operating room, we did it! We were able to remove all the adhesion and the all the abnormal uterine tissue from the pelvis. The affected parts of the colon were resected, and the womb was finally free. After that, we managed to remove the adenomyosis; the underestimated condition, which was the main cause of the pain and bleeding the patient had
You can imagine her thrill. She was able to return to her daily life, although she spent some time not believing that this nightmare was over
